I dove beneath the water’s waves
To touch the fabric time could change
And if my mother’s love stood fast
I’d stay the depth, of dreams long past
Sixteen-year-old Alison loves to swim. What no one believes is that Alison is able to venture into the afterlife by holding her breath, and swimming low under the waters. There, she enters a world where she can be with her late mother, but she can only stay for a span of a breath. When her nanny, Hua, suffers a heart attack, Alison dives too deep for too long, searching for what she has never known to appreciate, and comes face to face with a vital decision.
